How do you co-create with nature?

As an herbalist I am deeply connected to nature. My heart and soul resonate with plants, mostly wild, and those that grow in my garden. We have daily conversations about what they need, and how I can best serve them to thrive. In return, they share their gifts on how they will be support me, and others, on our healing journeys, both spiritual and physical.

What plant resonates with you most?

Probably Rosa rugosa…she touches the heart and personifies a soft, but enduring, strong, love. Within each petal, she holds the Divine Feminine and sacredness of the ocean waters. She is incredible magic and medicine. My foraging trips along our beautiful coastline are always zen moments of connecting me to Source and Spirit.

What is your favorite place in nature?

Hard answer…probably either sitting beside the ocean (specifically in Matunuck) or next to my herb garden.

How did it feel to be Wrapped in Nature… what connection did you feel to the organisms that you wore?

My experience was magical from the first time I tried on the creation I would be wearing. Being curious about the materials in the skirt, I asked Sara… leaves of the orange day lily… emotions were triggered, remembering a time long ago. When I was a child, my days were spent in the woods, building forts, meeting wild flowers and plants. When school ended for summer break, I was bound with a shovel, cardboard box and a mission… to dig up some of the beautiful blooming orange day lilies. They were destined to be a gift for my mother and planted in the yard. Lily was one of the earliest plants that spoke to me. The circle always comes around… with every swish of the skirt, I felt the day Lilies were reminding me of the deep connection we once had. What beautiful memories she shared.

What’s one step you are taking to protect the Earth?

I do my best to live lightly…repurposing something I might need rather than buying new…eliminating as much as plastic as I can…maintaining a chemical free property.
