An Organic Tapestry

Contact Wrapped In Nature

I created this vision board on a retreat in 2023.

The exercise was to:

“Pay attention to what is brought into consciousness.”

I described the board as this: “An organic tapestry. Put the pieces together, everything is present, it’s just a matter of finding out how it fits. Grounded in nature.”

I brought it home and it stood on my table. I looked at it all the time in the background as instructed, trying to decipher what it was showing me. A year and a half went by, and in January 2025, it hit me…This is the vision board for “Wrapped in Nature”

The board literally says, “Picture This…take human bodies + the use of plants, kinship, energy, and treat this as sacred.”

It wasn’t until I created the first few works of Wrapped in Nature that I connected the dots. The board had been guiding the work subconsciously—not dictating it, but gently orienting it, by simply looking at it over and over again. It held the essence before I had language for it.

To me, this board is a testament to the power of vision collaging as an artistic tool. The practice isn’t about immediate translation; it’s about concentration and alignment. It gathers the quiet longings of your heart, gives them form, and lets them wait until you are ready to understand them. It keeps you moving toward something you can’t yet fully explain.

You may not see the forest for the trees at first. But if you keep following the thread, one day the image resolves. The board explains itself. And when it does, it feels like a triumph—not because you knew the destination, but because you trusted the path.
