October 5th at the Spiral

Wrapped in Nature models from 10-5-2025 show at the Spiral

This was the 3rd showing at the Spiral, and the best performance yet! Upon arrival, guests were pinned with corsages of baby oyster shells and velvet leaf to feel the energetic connection of nature. Live music was offered by Devin Bender. His ukulele chords accompanied each model as they walked from the woods to the threshold of the spiral, where I was was waiting to welcome them. New models gave each look a new perspective. And the enhancement that made the most impact- I let the models rehearse in the garments so that they could embody my suggestions for movement while being wrapped in the organisms. They took my cues and the creations really came alive! Due to the fragility of the work, I have been cautious to minimize the time the models are in the creations, especially because one cannot sit! But here we are, 4 months later, and the work remains beautiful with small repairs. And the more time one spends in them, it is apparent that the connection deepens. Notecards made for purchase.
